South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s VRU Funds New Mini Bus
Almond Boxing Academy has succeeded in securing a £20,000 grant with South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s VRU Fund.
The grant has enabled the academy to buy a mini bus to take our boxers on the road around the country. The VRU has also funded road tax and insurance meaning that the vehicle is immediately ready for use by the academy.
The grant is paid in 2 stages with further funding to be released in March. More details of how the remainder of the grant will be spent, will be released in the Spring.
So far, the mini bus has enabled us to tae our boxers out on the road to train on location in outdoor terrain. Fitness is a key element in boxing and our team are certainly reaping the benefits of the mini bus already. In addition to training on location, the mini bus will be used to take academy members to sparring events and shows across Britain. The funding of the vehicle means that parents no longer have to car pool and that no one misses a single opportunity to further their boxing career at ABA.
Everyone at Almond Boxing Academy is extremly grateful to the VRU Fund for accepting our grant bid. The mini bus is going to drive us forward in more ways than one!Niall Almond – Head Coach
